'Mangalore Hills' – Ushering in the Smart City concept in Mangalore

The concept of “smart city” has gained momentum ever since the Narendra Modi government at the centre has taken the initiative to set up 100 smart cities across the country. Interestingly Mangalore city has already attained the tagline as a “smart city” as it encompasses all aspects to augment its growth process and make way for high quality of life. Be it education, healthcare, information technology, housing and infrastructure development, Mangalore has been the trailblazer, true to the enterprising nature of Mangaloreans.

Keeping in line with this enterprising nature, “Mangalore Hills”, an offering by Mangalore Internet City Pvt. Though the developmental work of the project began in 2012 the construction of the residential project started in 2013. Phase I of the project is in the finishing stage and 45 independent bungalows which form part of the 1stphase will be ready for occupation by March 2015.

The second phase of construction will begin only after the residents occupy these villas. The row houses will form the next phase of the project. The III phase of the project namely the IT Park will commence only in 2016 though work on one of the IT buildings is planned for next year. Other subsequent amenities such as school, mall, health care centres, hotels, recreation centres will come up in the area. The entire project is expected to be completed around 2020. Since the gestation period is quite long the promoters have taken every possible effort to design the project to suit the evolving needs of the customers.
