The event highlighted how AI is driving innovation, improving efficiency, and reshaping business models for SMEs in today’s digital landscape.
The highlight of the evening was an engaging session led by Dr Krishnadas Nanath on the critical role of AI in today’s world. He presented case studies demonstrating how AI has helped companies solve problems through predictive analysis, ultimately saving time and improving efficiency. Dr Krishnadas Nanath Nanath is a globally recognized academic and industry leader, currently serving as the deputy head (CEI) and head of PG programmes at Middlesex University Dubai, where he also leads the pioneering Middlesex Insights Lab, a data analytics hub that bridges industry expertise with regional initiatives. His career is marked by impactful roles in both academia and industry, including his tenure at Majid Al Futtaim (MAF), where he spearheaded the development of advanced analytics and data science capabilities, significantly enhancing the School of Analytics & Technology. A PhD graduate from IIM Kozhikode, Dr Nanath has been honoured with prestigious awards like the Amazon Faculty Award and the Microsoft Cloud Faculty Ambassador Award. As a thought leader, he frequently speaks at prominent forums such as Gitex Technology Week and the Global Indian Forum, sharing his expertise in AI, cloud computing, and data science. His work continues to shape the future of analytics in the UAE and beyond.
The event kicked off with an inspiring introduction to KEL’s mission and guiding principles, delivered to an engaged and enthusiastic audience. Dorothy Fernandes, president of KEL, warmly welcomed the attendees, encouraging them to embrace curiosity and leverage the vast knowledge and expertise available within the KEL community to drive personal and professional growth. Additionally, nine new members were formally inducted into KEL Dubai. James Mendonca, director of membership, administered the oath of office and presented membership certificates to the newly inducted members, marking the beginning of their journey within the organization.
The gathering was further enriched by remarks from Cedwyn Fernandes, pro vice-chancellor of Middlesex University, who spoke about the evolving role of entrepreneurship in today’s world. Adding to the spirit of collaboration, Ivan Fernandes expressed heartfelt appreciation to Dr Krishnadas Nanath for his invaluable contribution to the event, presenting him with a token of gratitude on behalf of KEL. In an exciting moment, Ivan Fernandes also reintroduced KE Elevate, a key initiative that empowers entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools needed to explore new opportunities in business and professional life. Avil Pinto, a participant of KE Elevate, shared his testimonial, highlighting how expertise from global leaders over the past three weeks has provided him with a step-by-step approach to enhancing and scaling his business.
