KE Members Speed into Iconic Networking by Luvena Rangel
Kanara Entrepreneurs (KE) witnessed an energizing Members Meet on Friday, October 13th 2023 at The Grand Magrath, Bangalore. The meeting was organized in a unique format allowing members to network in a novel structure that shifted their interaction from great to iconic!
Lead Member, Stan D’souza heralded the start of the evening by guiding the members with the KE prayer and making way for KE President, Claudius Pereira’s message. In his typical vibrant address, Claudius shared an anecdote of Mahatma Gandhi highlighting the foresight of one’s natural tendency to give so others may benefit. The moral of the story was tied up seamlessly with KE’s fundamental values of giving through conscious business principles and building the community. His key announcements highlighted the KE Launchpad aiming for the national exposure, the Elevate by KE Incubation program and the one-to-one Mentoring opportunity available to all KE Members.
Claudius’ message segued into the solemn Induction ceremony of eight new members by KE Director Memberships, James Coelho. The new members bring in a plethora of talent and expertise ranging from spa management, artisanal baking, art and craft to aeronautical engineering, banking and more! Prior to the Member Meeting, Past KE President, Clarence Pereira along with representatives of KE GenNow, Alan Aranha & KE Women Entrepreneurs, Sabitha Lasrado, presented an Orientation to the organization, scope and benefits for the new members.
With the solemnities officially out of the way, Claudius then led the members into an energy-driven Speed Networking session after offering a short demonstration from volunteers – Dr. Bryan Menezes (Smile Isle Dental Care), Carol Shelley Dsouza (The Mangalorean), Vilina Sequeira (Docens Training and HR Consulting Pvt. Ltd.) and Zaveena Lobo (Yokogawa India Limited). What followed thereafter was a good hour of active networking – timed, structured and powered by Claudius himself. The story is incomplete without mention of the notorious whistle that signalled time-up and time-to-move for the members who circulated in a clockwise pattern until all introductions were made.
Three generous gift hampers from Precilla D’souza (Precilla’s Kitchen) made their way to members who remembered the maximum number of names and industries of the people they met through the Speed Networking activity amidst much congeniality and good humor.
Next we had some pertinent announcements from KE Associate Director Mentoring, Pramod D’souza and KE Director-Marketing & Sponsorship, Naveen D’Souza to brief the members of accolades as well as the interesting events lined up for KE keeping members’ interests, organizational growth and branding in mind.
The evening was well-timed and kept alive by the spontaneous and engaging compering by the emcee of the evening, Luvena Rangel (The Curvy Yogi) – to a very patient and alert audience who laughed, applauded and cheered at the right times to keep the agenda on track and the attention rapt by a free flowing connection with her. She closed by making way for Kiran Dsouza who offered the Vote of Thanks and announced the commencement of social networking and fellowship over dinner and continued camaraderie.
The KE Members Meet was a resounding success with positive feedback coming throughout the evening calling for a worthy note of thanks to the Board of Directors for their support.
