Embarking on the KE GenNow Adventure: My First Encounter

As a relatively fresh face in Kanara Entrepreneurs (KE) community, on the brisk evening of November 17, 2023, I found myself stepping into the dynamic world of KE GenNow. As a sub-group catering to entrepreneurs under the age of 40, the excitement in the air was palpable, and I couldn’t wait to dive into the experiences that lay ahead.

6:30 PM, marked the commencement of an event that would unfold as a captivating narrative of collaboration and innovation. Seated in a cozy hall with 5 round tables, each accommodating vibrant young minds, I marveled at the thoughtful organization that surrounded me.

Our journey into the evening was expertly guided by Kiran Dsouza, our lively Master of Ceremony. From the get-go, he injected the room with infectious energy, ensuring that engagement and enthusiasm were maintained till the very end. The first activity, a Kahoot Quiz, kicked off the evening on an exciting note, and I was thrilled to secure the 3rd place – a fantastic start to my first KE GenNow meeting.

Next up was an introduction session that ingeniously broke the ice. Armed with cards bearing numbers and suits, we shared bits of ourselves based on the drawn cards. This simple yet effective activity allowed us to familiarize ourselves with the diverse talents present in the room in a fun way.

Building on this newfound camaraderie, we were grouped and transitioned to different tables. Shona Prabhu, the orchestrator of the following activities, seamlessly guided us through the next immersive experience. Chits bearing the letters ‘S’, ‘F’, or ‘I’ led us into a realm of personal stories. Success, failure, and inspiration narratives unfolded, weaving a tapestry of shared experiences that brought us closer as KE GenNow members.

Rohit Fernandes took the stage next, delivering a powerful session on business survival and the essential attitudes required in the entrepreneurial journey. His anecdotes, particularly the tale of the FedEx founder navigating financial challenges, left a lasting impression. Rohit’s session concluded with valuable takeaways – a set of principles to live by in the unpredictable world of business.

Stay Alive – You have a higher shot at success in your business if you are alive.

• The Success Equation: Success = Self Worth x Validation.

Closing the evening on an inspiring note, Claudius Pereira, KE President , graced us with his presence. His humble acknowledgment of feedback demonstrated KE’s commitment to continuous improvement, leaving us all inspired and eager for the next chapter in our KE GenNow journey.

In a room buzzing with youthful energy and entrepreneurial zeal, the KE GenNow meeting turned out to be more than just a networking event; it was an adventure that left me looking forward to the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.
