Unleashing Potential: Highlights from the KE GenNow Meeting – By Shawn Vaz (Self Employed – Stock Markets/Digital Marketing & Design/Photography/Hospitality)

On the vibrant evening of 19th July 2024, the Kanara Entrepreneurs GenNow meeting brought together a dynamic group of young entrepreneurs under the age of 40, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration, innovation, and growth. Here’s a glimpse into the inspiring sessions and activities that made this gathering truly memorable.

The evening commenced with Emcee Freeman Prem D’Almeida (BridgeMark Corporate Services), who set an engaging tone by sharing a personal anecdote about capturing moments and future success. Freeman’s story was a reminder of the importance of belief and support in our entrepreneurial journeys.

We then transitioned to a reflective prayer led by Nishan Marc Pereira (Deccan Group of Companies), invoking blessings for wisdom, clear vision, and integrity in our endeavors. This spiritual start created a focused and positive atmosphere for the rest of the meeting.

Next, Rahul Alvares (Deloitte) led the ice-breaking and table networking sessions. Rahul’s session highlighted the significance of understanding each other’s industries and building business connections. Participants engaged in discussions about their limiting beliefs, sharing personal stories of challenges and growth. This activity emphasized the importance of overcoming self-imposed barriers to achieve our full potential.

The main speaker of the evening, Savio D’Souza (Banquet 18), captivated the audience with his journey from the corporate world to entrepreneurship. Drawing from his experiences at Amazon and Adidas, Savio emphasized the importance of thinking big and embracing failure as a step towards success. His session on the ‘Regret Minimization Framework’ was particularly impactful, encouraging us to make decisions that we would not regret in the future.

During the Q&A session, participants had the opportunity to delve deeper into their business challenges, with Savio providing practical advice on:

  • Maintaining quality
  • Empowering employees
  • The importance of continuous learning and curiosity

His insights on managing blue-collar workers and the significance of recognition and growth opportunities were particularly enlightening.

As the evening progressed, Alfred Avinash (RASP and Associates) delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the speakers and participants. Alfred’s words highlighted the collaborative spirit, and the enriching experiences shared during the meeting.

Throughout the event, Elton Joy D’Souza (Neumatica Technologies) captured the essence of the gathering with his photography, and Deon Gomes (Lint Pharmaceuticals)ensured every moment was documented through videography. Their efforts will allow us to revisit these inspiring moments and share them with our wider community.

The meeting concluded with informal networking over dinner, allowing members to connect further and discuss the evening’s insights.

Thank you to everyone who made this event a success. The Kanara Entrepreneurs GenNow meetings continue to be a platform for learning, growth, and meaningful connections.
